"Let's Talk" Parent Workshop

In March of this year, Nipmuc hosted a Community Forum on Substance Abuse. The first goal of the evening was to raise awareness and provide education about adolescent substance abuse and addiction.  Our second goal was to start a conversation with all involved participants with an eye towards building a community response to this growing threat to our youth.  One of the suggestions that came out of this evening was a request for more parent education /workshops on a variety of topics related to Substance Abuse.  Next Monday, June 9, 2014, between 9:30 and 10:30 AM, Nipmuc  is pleased to host a workshop for parents entitled “Let’s Talk!”  This is intended to be an interactive workshop on how to have challenging conversations with your teens, about substance use or other teen issues.  The workshop will be facilitated by Kerri McCleary, MSW, LICSW, the Program Director of Day Treatment Services at Y.O.U., Inc. in Worcester. Refreshments will be served and please RSVP to our School Nurse, Kristin Gauthier at kgauthier@mursd.org  if you are interested in attending.  We look forward to seeing you there!
